Paris New York, Paris’ burger specialist, called us to develop the identity of their new restaurant, located opposite the Carreau du Temple. PNY restaurants’ architecture is always based around two cohabiting principles: neon light and mirrors. This third location however is to be more edgy, acidulous and feminine. Plastic references draw from a dreamed up 80s Miami.
We decide to create a font that can be fabricated with actual neon glass. It is inspired by classic 80s luminous shop windows type.
The small menu holders (A5) are created specifically for PNY with mirrors. Each menu is printed front and back, and a quote in boustrophedon is printed on the last page, which can only be read by looking at its reflection in the mirror.
Finally, many walls are covered in gradient colours wallpaper, complementing the furniture, and giving the location an overall soft and powdered atmosphere, contrasting with the strong materials used (neon, metal, plexiglass).
